Improper Installation in Troy, OH

Correcting another contractor's mistakes so the roof performs as designed.

Exposed fasteners, wrong or missing flashing, no ventilation, shingles nailed above the nail line. We document what was done wrong, correct it, and get the assembly back to manufacturer spec.

A manufacturer warranty is conditional on the roof being installed the way the manufacturer specifies. Shingles nailed above the nail line, missing step flashing, reused pipe boots, no intake ventilation: each of those is both a failure waiting to happen and, potentially, the reason a warranty claim gets denied years from now.

If you have a roof that is only a few years old and already giving you trouble, a second-opinion inspection is worth the hour. We will document what we find and tell you what it would take to bring the assembly back to spec, including, sometimes, that the original contractor should be the one to fix it.

Common questions

Improper Installation, answered

My roof is only a few years old and already leaking. Is that normal?

No. A recent roof that is failing usually points at installation: nailing above the nail line, missing or reused flashing, or no intake ventilation. A second-opinion inspection will tell you which.

Does bad installation void my warranty?

It can. Manufacturer warranties are conditional on the roof being installed to specification, which is why documenting what was done wrong matters before anyone touches it.

Should the original contractor fix it?

Often yes, and we will tell you so. We would rather hand you documentation you can use than sell you a roof you should not have to pay for twice.
